Jamshed Dasti’s counsel says Election Commission has acted on a reference but lacks authority to disqualify a candidate without a court declaration

The latest reports say that Dasti was arrested when he checked-in in a local hotel in Rawalpindi.

Justice Chaudhary Mushtaq Ahmad has directed the police to immediately release the former MNA, observing that how he was arrested when he was already on bail in the case.

Muzaffargah district police say that Dasti and his four men are involved in stealing an oil tanker and shifting the same to another tanker.

The former MNA says that police took two of his relatives to some unknown place and misbehaved with the women at home during the raid.

The Awami Raj Party leader requested the people to shave their heads and join him in his protest against the government.

SC directed him to contact the election tribunal.
