DOHA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th June, 2019) Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is expected to visit Russia this fall, with relevant preparations for the visit already underway, Russian Ambassador in Doha Nurmakhmad Kholov said on Monday.
"Strength of relations between our countries is underscored by the intensity of state visits. Preparations are underway for a visit of the emir of Qatar to Russia, which is scheduled for fall 2019," Kholov said at a reception on the occasion of Russia Day.
He recalled that, in 2018, the Qatari emir visited Russia twice � in March for a working visit and in July to attend the FIFA World Cup final.
In March 2019, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that President Vladimir Putin had accepted the invitation to visit Qatar, noting that the protocol services of the heads of state would determine the date.
