The arrest warrants will be presented before the Accountability Court on Monday.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 9th June, 2019) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has issued arrest warrants for Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the mega money laundering case.
The arrest warrants will be presented before the Accountability Court on Monday.
Asif Zardari is expected to be arrested from the court.
Earlier, Zardari’s arrest warrants were issued in the Park Laine case. However, he was granted a pre-arrest bail in the case.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had extended the interim bail of former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur till June 10, in mega money laundering and fake accounts cases.
The bail will expire tomorrow.
On May 14, the anti-corruption unit had furnished details of inquiries, investigations and references in the fake accounts case. In the report, NAB listed down at least eight cases where Zardari's link had been established. It further added that 22 inquiries and three investigations are underway while three references have been filed.
