ST. PETERSBURG (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th June, 2019) Dimitrios Velanis, an adviser to the Greek prime minister, suggested on Thursday to urgently hold a Russia-European Union summit, adding that Greece could host it.
"In my opinion, we should all do something in order to change the existing situation in the relations between Russia and the European Union. I believe we should urgently or even immediately hold a Russian-EU summit and I suggest to hold it in Greece, as this is a country of ancient democracy that loves Russia and Europe equally," Velanis said at a session of the Valdai Discussion Club, held at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
SPIEF began on Thursday and will last through Saturday. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is an official media partner of the forum.
