Sputnik News Agency's Panel On Internet Censorship To Be Held At SPIEF On Thursday

ST. PETERSBURG (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th June, 2019) Sputnik news Agency and Radio, and the Russian Foreign Ministry will organize on Thursday a panel on censorship on the internet as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) to talk about the impact that such restrictions can have on the freedom of speech.

The session is expected to be attended by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Chairman of the Russian upper chamber's Information Policy and Cooperation with the Media Alexei Pushkov and Managing Director of the Iranian Islamic Republic News Agency Seyyed Zia Hashemi, among many others.

The experts are also expected to address such issues as the fight against disinformation online and the development of Internet-related legislation, and see how the government's policy in this domain can influence economic relations between countries.
