MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th June, 2019) The world football's governing body, FIFA, on Wednesday re-elected its president, Gianni Infantino, for a second term.
"Gianni Infantino is re-elected as FIFA President until 2023," the FIFA media department said on Twitter.
The 46-year-old responded saying that he was "humbled" by the trust and confidence in him, according to Inside the Games sports website.
"For those who love me, for those who hate me, I love everyone today... I am honoured to serve you and to serve FIFA," he announced.
The Swiss-Italian was elected president for three years in February 2016. He took over after his predecessor, Sepp Blatter, was banned from football amid a 2015 corruption probe.
