Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended interim bail of opposition leader in Punjab Assembly (PA) Hamza Shahbaz till June 11 in three cases
LAHORE (Pakistan Point News / Online - 03rd June, 2019) Lahore High Court (LHC) has extended interim bail of opposition leader in Punjab Assembly (PA) Hamza Shahbaz till June 11 in three cases.NAB is investigating against Hamza Shahbaz in three cases including assets beyond known sources of income, Ramzan Sugar Mills and Saaf Pani.Hamza Shahbaz appeared before 2-member bench of LHC presided over by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi .Owing to expression of mistrust chief justice LHC has changed the bench.
Earlier a two members bench led by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi was hearing the case.The court had stopped NAB from arresting Hamza Shahbaz till today. Hamza Shahbaz had resorted to LHC for extension in bail before arrest in cases including Ramzan Sugar Mills, assets beyond known sources of income and Saaf Pani.Azam Nazir Tarar and Amjid Pervez advocate appeared on behalf of Hamza Shahbaz.Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi said at the inception of hearing it is very old matter.
Counsel for Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said the matter is pending hearing since two months.Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar remarked " over two months have been elapsed. Such time is not given in bail before arrest.Counsel for Hamza Shahbaz said several applications for interim bail are pending hearing for last two years.Justice Mazahir said " you are saying two years. Applications for interim bail are lying pending for four years.NAB prosecutor told the court the assets of Hamza Shahbaz have been increased by millions of rupees.
Hamza Shahbaz has failed to tell about sources of his assets. Reference has been filed in Accountability court in Saaf Pani case.Counsel for Hamza Shahbaz said NAB named Hamza Shahbaz after filing the reference. Nullah was constructed on the request of the local MPA in Ramzan Sugar Mills case. The allegations against Hamza Shahbaz are like " embarrassed cat scratches pole". NAB ignored the clear orders of LHC. date is being given to Anwar, Bashir and Boota in their bails but we are not being given.The court while extending the bail before arrest in respect of Hamza Shahbaz till June 11 stopped the NAB from arresting Hamza Shahbaz.
