Islamabad (Pakistan Point News - 03rd June, 2019) According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, more Pakistanis (55%) prefer the peaceful life of a village than the hustled life of a city; strong polarization between the views of urban and rural dwellers. A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Some people prefer the hustle and bustle of city life while others prefer the simple and peaceful life of a village.
Which do you prefer?” In response, 44% said they prefer city life, 55% said they prefer village life, and 1% said they did not know or wish to respond. Urban-rural breakdown: In urban areas, 72% said they prefer city life, 27% said they prefer village life, and 1% said they did not know or wish to respond. On the other hand, in rural areas, 30% said they prefer city life, 69% said they prefer village life, and 1% said they did not know or wish to respond.
