"We couldn't be confirming worse news. Beloved Sevilla star José Antonio Reyes has died in a traffic collision. Rest in peace," Sevilla said on Twitter.
It has not provided any other details of the incident.
Over his career, Reyes earned 21 caps for Spain. At the club level, he won UEFA Europa League record five times, two of them with Atletico Madrid and three in Sevilla. He also won Premier League with Arsenal and La Liga with Real Madrid.
