BAGHDAD (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) The Iraqi military killed 10 terrorists in the region of Saladin in the country's north on Tuesday, the media directorate of Iraqi security forces said."At least 10 terrorists were neutralized by heroes of the Air Force in coordination with the operational command of Saladin," the statement published on Twitter said.
The Iraqi forces also destroyed two vehicles belonging to terrorists and two tanks with gasoline.
Iraq has long been suffering from activities of various terrorist groups. In 2014, vast territories of the state were occupied by jihadists of the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, outlawed in Russia). The Iraqi army has successfully fought back against IS. In the end of 2017, then Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi declared an end to the country's fight against the infamous terrorist group as Iraq's troops re-established complete control over the country's Syrian border.
