MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) The financial situation at the Khrunichev State Research and Production Center is a threat to national security, General Director of Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, said in an interview with Sputnik.
"Excessive debt-taking and redundant overhead costs are sore spots for many defense industry companies, but sometimes problems become so acute that they make one worry not only about economic risks, but about the threats to national security. Perhaps the most pressing problem of the past year was the search for solutions aimed at the financial recovery of the Khrunichev Center, " Rogozin said.
It was earlier reported that the company's debt burden amounted to 111 billion rubles (over $1.7 billion), but it has recently decreased by 31 bln rubles.
