Court extends remand of cops involved' in girl sexual assault

A Civil court judge has extended remand of four persons, including three police officials, allegedly involved in the gang-rape of a 22-year-old girl in Rawalpindi area

RAWALPINDI, (Pakistan Point News / Online - 24th May, 2019) A Civil court judge has extended remand of four persons, including three police officials, allegedly involved in the gang-rape of a 22-year-old girl in Rawalpindi area.Civil Judge Sumera Alamgir extended remand of the suspected persons for four more days on Friday.The suspects were handed over to the Rawat police. More pertinent to mention is that the departmental inquiry against the suspected cops could not be initiated yet.

The victim, in her statement before the court, said that the policemen were travelling in a car with black shades. They stopped their car near her while she was on her way to hostel and forcibly pushed her into their vehicle. They took her to a deserted area where they gang-rape her in their car, she deplored.The victim further blamed that the suspects snatched Rs30,000 and gold jewelry from her. The lawyer of accused questioned the victim that whether she was accompany by her boy friend or not, when police arrested both of you.She replied that police gang-raped and threatened of dire consequences if reported the matter to anyone.
