MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th May, 2019) Unfriendly steps from abroad and trade wars indicate real threats to the Russian internet segment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.
He said that the goal of the law on the sustainable work of the Internet in Russia, signed by President Vladimir Putin, "is to secure our network in the event of unfriendly moves from abroad."
"The danger of such unfriendly steps is not just purely hypothetical. You see what is happening now in the framework of wars, I will not personalize the participants. But systemic dangers are contained in these trade wars, not only for the participants," Peskov told reporters when asked about whether the new law would be applied only when really necessary.
