ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / Online - 24th May, 2019) Supreme Court (SC) has rejected NAB appeal plea against high court decision regarding acquittal of an accused in Benami accounts case.Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khan Khosa has remarked NAB may have struck deals but we decide rather than striking deals.CJP gave these remarks Friday while presiding over a 3-member bench of SC during the course of hearing of petition filed against the court orders on acquittal of the accused in Benami accounts case.

The court said in its orders that trial court had sentenced accused Muhammad Nawaz to 7 years in prison but high court had ordered to acquit the accused.The court while upholding high court decision rejected NAB appeal plea.The court said in its decision that high court gave decision by keeping in view the evidence.CJP remarked " NAB mentioned in its reference that Muhammad Nawaz opened no account. 2 accounts were operating in the name of brothers of Muhammad Nawaz.

Additional NAB prosecutor told the court a sum of Rs 1990000 were deposited in the account in cash. The loss was inflicted on national kitty.CJP remarked there were no evidence in the documents which reflected that Muhammad Nawaz was holding account or any loss was caused to national exchequer.Additional NAB Prosecutor said " let us strike a deal. I read out a paragraph and I will become silent if crime is not proved.CJP remarked NAB may have struck deals but we give decisions rather than going for deals.
