ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2019) The UAE's Founding Father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's values enabled the nation to retain its position as the world’s largest donor of official development aid, relative to its gross national income, for several years, a senior official said on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
Dr. Nedal Al Tinaiji, Director-General of Zayed House For Islamic Culture, ZHIC, said the Day highlights Sheikh Zayed's role as a mentor and father, and the values he left as a legacy for the UAE people to stand out in charity, collaboration, and social cohesion.
Since 2012, the UAE commemorates Zayed Humanitarian Work Day on 19th Ramadan with a number of initiatives and events across the country to spread Sheikh Zayed's humanitarian values, he said.
"At ZHIC, we spare no effort to convey these values and promote them within the curriculum of Islamic culture to embody our vision as to be a leading organisation introducing the essence of Islamic culture," Dr. Al Tinaiji said.
During Ramadan, he said, ZHIC is organising a number of initiatives and activities promoting the culture of giving, love and tolerance.
Dr. Al Tinaiji added that Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work has enhanced collaboration between members of society, embodying the values and principles of the late Sheikh Zayed.
