Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 22nd May, 2019) A close relative of Farishta, 10-year-old girl who was found dead after being raped in Islamabad, has been arrested in the case.
Media reports said that the man has been arrested upon being identified by the already arrested accused. This man has turned out to be a close relative of Farishta, police said.
The police did not tell any further details about the accused.
The police have, however, broadened the scope of investigation in the case.
Ten-year-old Farishta disappeared from her home on 15 May in Islamabad. She was later found dead on Tuesday, allegedly raped and murdered.
After the incident was highlighted on media, DIG Operations Islamabad has suspended the SHO for registering the FIR late.
Three people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the abduction, murder and alleged rape of a ten years old girl whose body was found from the bushes in green belt area of village `Tamma' in Shahzad Town police area.
Farishta's post-mortem was conducted last night and its report is awaited.
Moreover, the DNA test and forensic was also conducted while investigation is underway on scientific grounds.
The victim's family also staged protest for hours at Taramari Chowk in Islamabad and called or action to be taken against the culprits.
