Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 21st May, 2019) A minor girl was found dead after being raped in Islamabad.
According to details, the 10-year-old girl, Farishta, was abducted on May 15 from Chak Shehzad Islamabad.
Her parents continuously requested the concerned police station to register ab FIR but they refused to lodge one.
Her dead body was found from Shahzad Town area on Tuesday. The body of the minor was discovered by locals who then informed the police.
The police only lodged the FIR last night after her dead body was found.
Moreover, the staff at polyclinic refused to conduct her post-mortem.
The family of the girl held a protest over her alleged rape and murder.
A similar incident happened in January, 2018 when the country was swept by shock and grief over rape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab.
Little Zainab went missing on January 4, 2018 shortly after she left home to go to a neighbour's house where she studied Quran. Her parents were away in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah when the incident took place. After relatives reported her missing the police recovered her body on January 9, 2018 from a heap of garbage.
Zainab's murderer Imran Ali was hanged to death in Kot Lakhpat Jail in October, 2018 after the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court upheld his conviction and the President turned down his mercy petition.
