Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin said on Tuesday that he did not expect technical recession to be registered in Russia in the second quarter of 2019
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st May, 2019) Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin said on Tuesday that he did not expect technical recession to be registered in Russia in the second quarter of 2019.
"Well no, I believe that the tax and budget factor that played a significant negative role in the first quarter of the year will play an opposite role during the major part of the year," Oreshkin told reporters, when asked if technical recession could be registered in Russia as a result of the second quarter of 2019.
The minister's comment came as a response to certain experts' concerns that Russia could enter technical recession, when the GDP would decrease for two consecutive quarters of the year.
