'Alliance Française' opens at Ajman University

AJMAN, (Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2019) Ajman University announced the opening of its university-based French language centre in the UAE, which aims to offer an array of courses and international diplomas for basic, independent and fluent speakers.

Ajman University Chancellor, Dr. Karim Seghir, Ph.D, and French Ambassador to the UAE, Ludovic Pouille, along with the staff of Alliance, directed by Bernard Frontero, opened the Alliance Française Ajman Centre located at the Ajman University J2-G21 building on Sunday morning.

A memorandum of understanding to this effect was inked by both parties at Ajman University in the presence of AU students, faculty, dignitaries, and media persons.

"Since its inception in 1988, Ajman University has spared no efforts to address the educational needs of the community," Dr. Seghir said, adding, "Special discounts will be given to AU students and faculty, including aspiring candidates from the northern emirates. Up to 500 students are already taking French courses at Ajman University, and the number is expected to grow with the opening of this Centre."

French Ambassador to the UAE, Ludovic Pouille, said they have chosen Ajman University due to its long history as the first private institution of higher education in the UAE and the Gulf region. "Hopefully, we will be offering a bachelors degree in the near future," he added.

The Alliance Française Ajman Centre will begin offering a variety of services at the beginning of the university courses, and certainly by 15th September this year, he added.

Alliance Française, launched as an international organisation in 1883 in Paris, is a non-profit organisation aimed at promoting the French language and the Francophone cultures.
