SSJ100 Had Excessive Weight On Crash-Landing In Sheremetyevo - Rosaviatsia

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th May, 2019) Superjet 100 passenger plane prior to the deadly accident at Sheremetyevo airport on May 5, was attempting to land with excessive weight of 1.6 metric tons but without exceeding the allowed landing speed limit, according to a document by Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency obtained by Sputnik.

"By the time of entry into the glide path, the mass of the aircraft was about 42,600 kilograms, which is 1,600 kilograms more than the maximum permissible landing mass," the document says.

"The descend via the glide path was carried out without significant deviations at a speed of 155-160 knots (287-296 kilometers per hour). According to the flight manual, the runway approach speed for the existing conditions is 155 knots," the agency notes.
