Russia Records Ceasefire Violations In 2 Syrian Provinces Over 24 Hours - Russian Military

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th May, 2019) The Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria said Thursday that over the past 24 hours, it registered ceasefire breaches in two provinces within Syria's Idlib de-escalation zone.

"Over the past day, terrorists attacked Rwaisat Rushu, Masyaf, Ain al-Qantara, Dahr Abu Assad, Djubb al-Mgara and Nahshabba in Latakia province, Shariyah in Hama province," head of the center Maj. Gen. Viktor Kupchishin said.

He added that on Wednesday, a total of 467 refugees left the Rukban camp via the Jleb checkpoint.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and militant and terrorist organizations. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.
