Afghan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib has met with the Russian ambassador in Kabul, Alexander Mantytskiy, to discuss the Afghan peace process among other issues, Mohib's office said on Wednesday
KABUL (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th May, 2019) Afghan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib has met with the Russian ambassador in Kabul, Alexander Mantytskiy, to discuss the Afghan peace process among other issues, Mohib's office said on Wednesday."We will build a regional consensus on Afghan peace and all the concerns of regional countries will be in focus," Mohib told Mantytskiy, as quoted in his office's statement.
Mantytskiy, in turn, expressed support for the peace process and congratulated Mohib on the centennial of Russian-Afghan diplomatic relations, according to the statement.
Afghanistan has long been gripped by war and political instability, but the two main rivals, the Afghan government and the Taliban movement, have been making efforts toward achieving peace by holding indirect talks.
