Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo began their talks in Russia's Black Sea resort city of Sochi
SOCHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th May, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo began their talks in Russia's Black Sea resort city of Sochi.
The agenda of the talks will include crises in Venezuela, Ukraine, Syria, the situation around Iran and the Korean Peninsula.
Arms control is also expected to be high on the agenda in light of the collapse of the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Another bilateral agreement in question is the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), which is set to expire on February 5, 2021.
After the talks, the two top diplomats will be received by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his residence.
