US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived on Tuesday in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov
SOCHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th May, 2019) US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived on Tuesday in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Ruptly video agency's footage showed Pompeo getting off the plane before leaving for the city.
This marks the US top diplomat's first visit to Russia. Pompeo is scheduled to first meet with Lavrov to discuss a wide range of pressing international issues, such as crises in Venezuela, Ukraine, Syria, situation around Iran and the Korean Peninsula, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry and the US State Department. Arms control is also expected to be high on the agenda.
The two top diplomats will be then received by Putin in his residence.
