Weqaya food programme launched in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2019) Abu Dhabi's Department of Health is partnering with the Lulu Group to introduce the "Weqaya Food Programme" that conform to required health standards and criteria.

The agreement will see Lulu Hypermarket stock and promote Weqaya-approved food products, carrying the Weqaya logo. They must conform to certain criteria, including being rich in vitamins, minerals, and fibre, and low in fat, sodium and salt.

The programme was developed in close collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, ADFCA, and Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, using internationally approved standards.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohamed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Health and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Yusuff Ali, Managing Director of Lulu Group International, inaugurated the programme at the Lulu Hypermarket at The Mall at the World Trade Centre.
