Saudi Aramco Suspends Oil Supply to Pipeline in East of Country After Drone Attack - Falih

Saudi national oil company Saudi Aramco has suspended oil supply to a pipeline in the east of the country following an attack by explosive-laden drones, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Falih said on Tuesday

DOHA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th May, 2019) Saudi national oil company Saudi Aramco has suspended oil supply to a pipeline in the east of the country following an attack by explosive-laden drones, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Falih said on Tuesday.

Al Massira, a broadcaster of the rebel Houthi movement, reported on Tuesday morning that several drone attacks had been conducted from the territory of Yemen. The attacks targeted livelihood facilities in Saudi Arabia.

"Aramco has suspended oil supply to the pipeline in order to assess the damage and to repair the station in order to resume pipeline operations and normal-mode oil supply," Falid said, as quoted by the Saudi Press Agency.

He slammed the attack as a "cowardly act of terrorism" targeted against Saudi Arabia and the global economy, stressing the need to counter terror groups, including "Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen."

"Crude oil production and export of Saudi oil and oil products continue, they have not been interrupted," Falih added.
