MINSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th May, 2019) A Belarusian delegation will take part in a two-day meeting of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) in Slovakia and it expects that the meeting will result in a road map for quickly resuming Russian oil transit to Europe through the Druzhba pipeline, the press service of the Belarusian state oil company Belneftekhim said on Monday.

"A Belarusian delegation is taking part in the meeting of the IAOT, which is conducted on May 13-14 ... in Bratislava (Slovakia) ... The main aim of the Belarusian delegation is to formulate a clear road map for oil transporters and European oil consumers in Hungary, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, so that [oil] transit through Druzhba to these countries could be quickly resumed," the press service said.

The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Belarus through Druzhba pipeline of the Russian state-owned Transneft oil transport monopoly arose in April. Poland and Ukraine halted oil transit from Russia via Belarus after it was discovered that the transported oil was contaminated with chlorides. Russia launched an investigation into the matter and has so far detained four people over the incident. Uncontaminated Russia oil reached the Belarusian border in early May.
