DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th May, 2019) The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) intends to open its representative center in Turkey soon, Natalia Nikonorova, the DPR foreign minister and envoy to the Contact Group on Ukraine, said on Friday."We already have six representative centers. I can tell you in confidence that a representative center has been registered in Turkey, and soon we will have an official opening ceremony. Thus, we will begin developing relations with the Republic of Turkey," Nikonorova said at a meeting with the representatives of foreign delegations.
Centers of the self-proclaimed republic have already been opened in France, the Czech Republic, Finland and Greece. Italy is home to two such centers.
The DPR and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) declared independence in 2014, refusing to recognize the new Ukrainian government. Kiev in response launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed republics. In February 2015, the conflicting parties signed a ceasefire agreement in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, but the situation in the region remains tense.
