Engro Foods factory caught producing contaminated milk

The Sindh Food Authority (PAF) on Thursday conducted a raid on Engro Foods factory producing tainted milk.

Karachi (Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2019) The Sindh Food Authority (PAF) on Thursday conducted a raid on Engro Foods factory producing tainted milk.
The authority disposed of 8000 litre tainted milk during the raid. Besides, a fine of Rs 100,000 was imposed on the company.
According to details, the SFA Hyderabad team, upon directions of DG Amjad Laghari, conducted a raid at the milk production unit of renowned company Engro.
A large number of hazardous injections administered to the cows were found from the factory.

Not only that, the chemicals used to increase the quantity and density of milk were also found that were being mixed in the milk.
Sources said that this contaminated milk, having 35 per cent quantity of water, was ready for supply when the team raided. During the raid, the SFA team confiscated 8000 litres of milk and imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on the factory. The authority has also issued a seven-day notice to Engo Foods to improve the quality of food.
The chemically contaminated milk are hazardous for health and can sometimes be deadly as well.
