MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th May, 2019) Russian football players Pavel Mamaev and Alexander Kokorin have been sentenced to jail time over assault, a Sputnik correspondent reported Wednesday from the courtroom.Kokorin was sentenced to 18 months in jail, Mamaev to 17 months. The sentence has not taken effect yet and may be appealed.
The two players got embroiled in a fight in the center of Moscow in October. A Russian Trade and Industry Ministry official was injured in the brawl. The trial became widely publicized in Russia.
