MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th May, 2019) The United States says that "all options are on the table" concerning Venezuela because it has not learned any lessons from the situations in Ukraine, Serbia and a number of other countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday.
"Unfortunately, when we hear threats toward Venezuela, which are mainly coming from Washington � and these threats are leaving 'all options' on the table, as US officials emphasize � we conclude that the tragedies in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine have not taught Washington and a number of other Western capitals," Lavrov said at a press conference, held after talks with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza in Moscow.
"We and our Venezuelan partners agree that any use of force circumventing the UN Charter and the UN Security Council may have catastrophic consequences for the entire structure of the modern global security," the Russian foreign minister stressed.
