The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started investigation against Deputy Managing Director of Pakistan Television (PTV) Zahoor Barlas

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 01st May, 2019) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started investigation against Deputy Managing Director of Pakistan Television (PTV) Zahoor Barlas. Deputy Managing Director of Pakistan Television Zahoor Barlas was facing allegations that he done massive financial corruption, dishonesty and misused of powers.The inner sources stated that secretary ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been directed to provide all related record of Zahoor Barlas to investigative office.

Zahoor Barlas was the high ranked office of ministry of Information and Broadcasting and served important positions in ministry. However, he was facing allegations of massive financial corruption.Sources stated that as the Deputy MD of ptv Zahoor Ahmed had allegedly violated all rules and regulations of the department and got appointed his close relatives included nephews, nieces on important posts on heavy salaries. The department faced heavy financial loss owing to unlawful practice.

Sources stated NAB issued a letter on April 23 and directed secretary ministry of Information Shafqat Jalil to provide all related record of Zahoor Barlas as Deputy Managing Director PTV. Sources stated that NAB had also issued such type of letter earlier but related official hadn't provided any detail in this respect. Sources further disclosed that NAB officials also directed secretary to provide all related record of recruitments done from the period of 2017 to 2018.

Zahoor Barlas was facing allegation that he made number of appointments of political basis without follow any procedure.Moreover, all the record of advertisements with Newspapers has also sought in this respect. All the related record of tenders and advertisements that done in Zahoor Barlas time period have also sought.
