MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th April, 2019) The Russian Embassy in Caracas is working as usual, despite the recent events in Venezuela, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik.On Tuesday, opposition leader Juan Guaido, who had illegally declared himself Venezuela's president, called on the people of Venezuela and the army to take to the streets to depose the legitimate head of state, Nicolas Maduro.
Communication Minister Jorge Rodriguez said the authorities were taking measures against a group of military who were "promoting" a coup in the country. Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino said the army remained on the side of the legitimate authorities, adding that the situation remained normal at all bases in the country.
"There is no alarming data, the embassy is working in a normal mode," the ministry source said.
