Ministry of Community Development organises youth circle

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2019) The Ministry of Community Development organised a youth circle, entitled, "Involving and Employing People of Determination is Community Responsibility", in cooperation with the Federal Youth Authority, to support the ministry’s goals towards the inclusive employment of people of determination, in line with the vocational rehabilitation and employment pillar of the national policy for empowering people of determination, in cooperation with the public and private sectors.

The youth circles are organised in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to inspire youth-centric dialogue across a variety of areas for engagement with youth to shape innovative solutions to global challenges through action-oriented discussions and youth-inspired recommendations.

The youth circle was attended by Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, and officials and representatives of people of determination.

This youth circle highlights the issue of employing people of determination, in terms of the challenges they face and proposed solutions that would facilitate equal employment opportunities and job adaptability. Statistics reveal that people of determination face challenges that hinder their employment in a working environment or to obtain equal employment opportunities with their peers, along with limited career development.

At the discussion, Hessa Buhumaid emphasised that the employment and involvement of people of determination is a social responsibility, since these categories have several key success factors and are capable of performing job tasks when they are provided with adequate support opportunities.

She added that the Ministry of Community Development encourages cooperation with all entities to expand the employment of people of determination and does not hesitate to provide them with all the support, guidance and follow-up they need to achieve the goals of employing people of determination.

Also speaking at the gathering, Shamma Bint Suhail bin Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said, "The UAE is very keen to provide the best capabilities and means to support people of determination, overcome challenges and obstacles, and ensure comprehensive inclusion in the community for these categories so they can live their lives normally."

It is noted that the national policy for empowering people of determination depends upon six pillars: health and rehabilitation, education, vocational rehabilitation and employment, social protection and family empowerment, outreach, and "public life, culture and sports".
