Russia Records 3 Ceasefire Violations In Syria Over 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th April, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered three truce breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded 32 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Sunday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered three cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (2) and Hama (1). The Turkish side has registered 32 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo (22), Idlib (4), Hama (4), and Latakia (2)," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The center added that Russian military had not held any humanitarian operations over the given period.

The number of areas that have signed reconciliation agreements in Syria stands at 2,518. The number of armed formations that have pledged to observe the ceasefire also remains unchanged, standing at 234.

Russia, alongside Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria, while it also assists Damascus in the postwar reconstruction of the country and the repatriation of refugees.
