Punjab Assembly deputy speaker suspends membership of three PML-N MPAs

The members include Azma Bokhari, Rana Rauf and Pir Ashraf Rasool. PA Proceedings tuned into rumpus on Friday

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 26th April 2019) Punjab Assembly proceedings turned into rumpus on Friday when treasury and opposition benches started clashing with each other during a discussion on the bill regarding local body system.

The PML-N member raised objections over different points of the bill but Law Minister Raja Basharat defended it.

On this, PML-N MPA Azma Bokhari started raising slogans against the government and sought permission from the chair to talk on the subject. On denial, PML-N’s Pir Ashraf Rasool and Rana Rauf started interference which made the deputy speaker furious. And he suspended the membership of the three members. The opposition staged walkout against the decision of suspending memberships.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Awami Tehreek spokesman Noor Ullah Siddique said the parliamentary tradition of suspending membership and expelling women from the house was set by PML-N. He said during Shahbaz Sharif rule the entry in the house of M.P.A.s Bushra Gardezi and Semal Kamran was banned. Even then Minister food attacked both female members of Assembly at opposition benches.
