WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) Members of the US Secret Service are gathering outside the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington hours ahead of the so-called deadline when the State Department and opposition leader Juan Guaido representatives are expected to take over the diplomatic building, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
The first US Secret Service car arrived at around 6:15 p.m. EST (10:15 p.m. GMT) on Wednesday and at least four cars are now in front of the building. Law enforcement said they were called about complaints that the embassy has been vandalized.
Dozens of US activists are currently in the diplomatic building and determined to resist and not to allow it to be taken by Guaido's officials. Some of the activists have lived in the embassy for the last couple of weeks and have been holding various events like lectures and speeches inside. The activists are at the embassy with the permission of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
