MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) Myanmar would welcome security dialogue with China and Russia in a trilateral format as security and defense issues are very important for the Asian country, Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar's Defense Services Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing told Sputnik in an interview.

"Issues related to defense and security are very important for us. Therefore, we would be happy to see such negotiations taking place and would welcome such a meeting," the official said when asked whether a trilateral dialogue in the Russia-Myanmar-China format was possible.

He spoke positively about the idea of Russia, Myanmar and China discussing security issues.

"If we talk about international relations, we have a rule we always cooperate with other countries. We have only friends, we have no enemies. If a country makes a proposal and if it does not threaten our friendship with other countries, then we agree to any proposal," the official added.

Min Aung Hlaing came to Moscow to attend the ongoing Moscow Conference on International Security. The participants are expected to discuss the situation in the middle East, including Syria, as well as regional security in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
