KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd April, 2019) Incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Monday during a rally in his support that he planned to be reelected as the country's leader in the next presidential election.
People gathered outside the Presidential Administration's building on Bankova street in Kiev on Monday to show support for Poroshenko who lost Sunday's runoff to Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
"I am not leaving politics. We are uniting in order to secure our victories in the near future. Together, we will win the parliamentary elections and together we will come back to Bankova street after the next presidential election!" Poroshenko said.
Although the Ukrainian Central Election Commission has yet to confirm the election results, Poroshenko has already conceded his defeat to Zelenskiy, who received 73.21 percent of the vote with 99 percent of the ballots counted.
