KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st April, 2019) Incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said commenting on the exit poll results that he had always been guided by former UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill's words "never give up."
According to the Ukrainian national exit poll, presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskiy is leading in the second round of the election with 73.2 percent of the vote, while Poroshenko is receiving 25.3 percent
"Dear media representatives. Never, never, never give up. These are the words of great Briton Winston Churchill that I was always guided by," Poroshenko said at his campaign headquarters after exit poll results were announced.
"Dear Ukrainians, next month I will leave the post of the head of state. This is the decision of the majority of Ukrainians, and I accept this decision," Poroshenko pointed out, adding that the exit poll results were "clear."
Poroshenko added that he would not leave politics after leaving the presidential post.
