BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th April, 2019) The Council of the European Union has approved on Monday the amendments to the EU Gas Directive, which stipulate the rules of operation of the offshore sections of gas pipelines in the European Union, including the Nord Stream.
The European Parliament passed the amendments on April 4.
According to the materials of the EU Council, the amendments were passed without discussion. The changes will enter into force 20 days after the date of their publication in the EU's official press. The EU states have nine months to incorporate the new rules into their national legislation.
