Russia's Aviation Safety Experts Plan To Visit Egypt This Month - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th April, 2019) A group of Russian aviation safety experts are expected to visit Egypt later this April, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov told Sputnik.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said earlier this months during visit to Cairo that full resumption of the bilateral air services may be expected in the near future.

"A new group of Russian aviation safety experts is expected to go to Egypt in the second half of April this year," the diplomat said.

Air traffic between Russia and Egypt was suspended in 2015 following the fatal crash of a Russian passenger plane over the Sinai Peninsula, which Russia qualified as an act of terrorism.

Flights between the Russian and the Egyptian capitals were resumed in April 2018 after the Egyptian authorities made the desired improvements to security.
