MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th April, 2019) Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of Sputnik news agency and RT broadcaster, said, regarding Thursday's arrest of WikiLeaks website founder Julian Assange, that "global hypocrisy won."

Assange, who had hosted a show on RT, was arrested earlier in the day, as the UK police entered the Ecuadorian Embassy in London after Ecuador withdrew asylum.

"What lies in store for him [Assange] now? Decades in prisons? Death penalty in one of the states of the world's exemplary democracy? He was ready for everything. Today, global hypocrisy won," Simonyan said on Telegram.
