Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 11th April, 2019) The International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup trophy has come to Pakistan amid much excitement.
The trophy reached Islamabad early Thursday while on the international leg of the Trophy Tour.
The trophy will remain in Pakistan for four days. The trophy will go to all four provinces of Pakistan. It will reach Lahore on April 13 and Karachi on April 14.
A ceremony will also be held on April 14 where several celebrities will take part.
Receiving the trophy, Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed expressed his happiness and excitement.
The skipper said that the trophy will travel to all provinces of Pakistan. He said that he is grateful to Pakistani government and Pakistan armed forces for maintaining peace and security in the country.
The Trophy Tour provides an opportunity to Pakistani citizens to witness it live and take pictures with it. Fans will also be able to meet their favourite players.
The 2019 World Cup is scheduled to begin from May 30 in England. The first match of the tournament will be played between Australia and South Africa. Pakistan will play against India on June 16.
The tournament will conclude on July 14.
