National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) was informed on Wednesday that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister has been announced merger of Khasadar and Levies forces into the KP police
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 10th April, 2019) National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) was informed on Wednesday that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister has been announced merger of Khasadar and Levies forces into the KP police.It was added in the briefing that their service rules will be framed under the provisions given in the ordinances promulgated by the KP Governor.SAFRON meeting was held in Committee Room of Ministry of SAFRON, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of MNA Sajid Khan.
Home Department & Tribal Affairs of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Special Secretary informed the Committee that the Chief Minister has already been announced the merger of Khasadar and lavy force in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police and their service rules will be framed under the provisions given in the ordinances promulgated by the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.During the meeting, it was pointed out that in some merged districts (erstwhile FATA) the Subedar Majors are appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP's) who are not fulfill the required criteria.
Where upon the Committee recommended that IGP Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Secretary Home Department & Tribal Affairs would be invited in the next meeting for briefing the Committee on the future status and restructuring of the Khasadar and lavy force after absorption in the KP police.The Committee also discussed the issue of salary of Khasadar force of South Waziristan and North Waziristan districts stopped by the quarters concerned since last eight months which caused grave concern amongst the public.
In this regard, the Committee recommended that the government should release the salaries of the Khasadar force of South and North Waziristan Waziristan districts on immediate basis and resolve the opening of their bank accounts for computerization of their salaries in amicably way.The meeting was attended by MNAs: Saleh Muhammad, Gul Dad Khan, Gul Zafar Khan, Abdul Shakoor Shad, Syed Iftikharul Hassan, Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, Sajid Hussian Turi, Muhamamd Jamaluddin and Ali Wazir.
