MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th April, 2019) Moscow is ready and has every opportunity to boost its defense cooperation with Ankara, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday, commenting on the remarks by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on the possibility to buy more S-400 air defense systems from Russia.
Earlier in the day, Cavusoglu said that Turkey might continue buying Russia's S-400 if the United States refused to sell its Patriot systems to Ankara.
"You know that defense cooperation is a very important part of Russia's interaction with other countries... including Turkey. Russia is open [to defense cooperation] and has necessary capacities and technological competencies, so, of course, Russia is looking for opportunities to expand such defense cooperation. This is an absolutely normal process," Peskov said.
