Russia's TechTsvetmet Ready To Invest In Nickel Deposit In Venezuela - Venezuelan Minister

BUENOS AIRES (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th April, 2019) The Russian company TechTsvetmet, which is cooperating with Cuba and Guatemala, is ready to invest in the Loma de Niquel nickel deposit in Venezuela, Venezuelan Minister of Ecological Mining Development Victor Cano said.

"TechTsvetmet has experience in working with waste metal as well as is developing projects in Guatemala and Cuba. The company expressed its readiness to invest in the Loma de Niquel [nickel] deposit," the minister wrote on his Twitter page on late Monday.

The Venezuelan cooperation with TechTsvetmet envisages the use of technologies of producing refined nickel, which is more expensive than ferronickel that is currently produced by Venezuela.

The Loma de Niquel nickel deposit was discovered in 1940s in the northern Venezuelan state of Aragua and, according to experts' estimations, contains some 40 million tonnes of nickel.
