LTC issues tickets to 9,956 vehicles on violations in March

The company said that 9319 transport vehicles were challaned including 82 Buses, 1378 Vans, 192 Coasters, 2479 Auto Rickshaws and 5160 Motorcycle Rickshaws on various violations of Motor Vehicle Ordinance.

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 8th April 2019) The Lahore Transport Company carried out enforcement action against 9,956 public transport vehicles in March.

The company said that 9319 transport vehicles were challaned including 82 Buses, 1378 Vans, 192 Coasters, 2479 Auto Rickshaws and 5160 Motorcycle Rickshaws on various violations of Motor Vehicle Ordinance.

The enforcement action has been taken against vehicles without fitness certificate, route permit, having illegal LPG cylinders and transport operators found overcharging from the commuters.

In addition to this, 637 vehicles were impounded at various police stations in Lahore. It is pertinent to mention here that around 14120 rupees as excess fare were returned to passengers with regard to overcharging on transport vehicles in the month of March; however, LTC takes action on a daily basis so that commuters availing public transport facilities can reach their destination comfortably without any hassle.

The LTC claimed that fully trained transport enforcement inspectors and senior officials from time to time distribute pamphlets and organized awareness training among drivers and fare collectors at various parts of city about transport rules and regulations applicable on public transport vehicles, in this way by observing these relevant laws, the private transport operators can not only save their time from any inconvenience rather it is equally benefit to the passengers using public transport to reach at their respective destination on time.
