BERLIN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th April, 2019) Politicians from Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party and German business representatives are due to take part in the Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) that is scheduled to take place in Crimea later in April, the press service of a member of Berlin House of Representatives, Gunnar Lindemann, said."A deputy from the Alternative for Germany party in the Berlin House of Representatives, Gunnar Lindemann, and several other politicians from AfD party, as well as German businessmen will take part in the 5th International Economic Forum which is due to be held April 18-20 in [the city of] Yalta, Crimea," the statement said.
Lindemann noted that the AfD party "remains committed to the idea of lifting all anti-Russian sanctions."
According to the latest polls, euroskeptic AfD is now the second most popular party in Germany and is the third biggest in parliament. The party has repeatedly voiced its criticism of the policies of the ruling Christian democratic political alliance (CDU/CSU) and called for lifting of the EU anti-Russian sanctions.
The Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) is an annual business event that has established itself as an international venue for discussing social-economic issues.
