Lesco starts four hours load shedding in Lahore

The power outages are likely to increase in the third week of April. The other power distribution companies are also conducting five to six hours shutdown

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News-6th April 2019) The Lahore Electric Supply Company has started unscheduled load shedding in the city.

The consumers in the different area of the provincial metropolis are observing four to five hours load shedding for last 24 hours. The company officials say the load shedding will increase in coming days.

The Lesco is conducting four hours average load shedding in Lahore and five to six hours in its other urban and rural limits, they say.

It was learned that the company was facing 30 percent shortfall in demand and supply.

According to sources, the national grid was facing around 3,000MW shortfall as the demand for electricity increased with the rise of temperature.

The other power distribution companies are conducting six hours average shutdown in their limits. Officials say the load shedding duration will increase in the second week of their week of April. The main reason behind the load shedding, they say, is less fuel supply to power plants.
